Outdoor/Large-Scale DAS(oDAS)

A large-scale Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (oDAS) will provide wireless coverage in outdoor environments. This is especially important In large open spaces such as parking lots, outdoor shopping areas, large business or educational campuses, and outdoor concert venues, where seamless wireless coverage is essential and towers may not be an option due to capacity limitations. A single DAS can support multiple wireless technologies including WIFI, Public Safety and all current technologies offered by the wirelesscarriers.

Optical Telecom is experienced in designing and deploying oDAS that fit in with the client's environment and can locate outdoor DAS nodes on existing infrastructure such as utility or light poles or traffic signals and can also custom build and install nodes that are unobtrusive and will blend with the other structures.  Our ability to install these nodes on existing building infrastructure, light or utility poles or custom-build and install enables our clients to ensure wireless voice and data in difficult to reach areas. 

We recently designed and installed an oDAS at NRG Park in Houston, Texas.  The DAS solution provides seamless wireless coverage from the parking areas, where tailgaters gather, into the NRG Stadium, NRG Arena and NRG Center.  This system was an essential part of the Superbowl 2017 experience.
