What is a DAS?
According to the DAS Forum, a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source via a transport medium that provides wireless service within a geographic area or structure.
Why Use DAS?
DAS provides a way to efficiently distribute wireless connections inside buildings or other structures where steel columns and layers of concrete can interfere with wireless signals. This means reliable cellular signal throughout the structure or across multiple buildings. A single DAS can support multiple wireless technologies including CDMA, GSM, iDEN, LTE, PCS and WiMax.
